The SN24-317 EPABX system is designed for small to medium offices and requires careful configuration to ensure optimal performance. Here are the key steps to configure the SN24-317 EPABX system:
  1. Run RJ-11 telephone cable (Cat-3 or Cat-5e) from the EPABX cabinet to each phone location. Label both ends with the extension number.
  2. Wall-mount the EPABX in its cabinet and connect power via the UPS.
  3. Plug in the incoming CO lines from the telecom provider’s MDF.
  4. Connect a programming console (laptop with Panasonic Maintenance Console software for Panasonic, or web admin for IP-PBX).
  5. Configure extensions, hunt groups, time-of-day routing, voicemail, and feature buttons.
  6. Plug each phone into its labelled extension drop and test by dialing between extensions and to outside numbers.
  7. Run a 30-minute training for front-desk and admin staff on making/receiving calls, transferring, hold, speed-dial, voicemail retrieval, and DND.
  8. Distribute a one-page user cheat-sheet and save the EPABX programming backup to a secure location.
  9. Document the extension list, cabling map, and programming password for future reference.
